Nominate a colleague for the Marsh Awards 2014

Awards recognise achievements in education and learning
Nominations are now open for the Marsh Awards for Excellence in Gallery Education.

The awards recognise the achievements of people working across the UK in learning and education within a gallery or visual art context.

Colleagues at all stages of their careers are eligible to be nominated, including those working freelance, volunteer or salaried positions.

The awards are presented to four winners, who each receive a prize of £500 to spend on professional development.

The awards are run by the Marsh Christian trust in partnership with engage, the National Association for Gallery Education.

The deadline for nominations is 12pm on 11 August. The awards will be presented at the engage International Conference in Leeds on 10 November.

Volunteer awards

Applications are also open for the Marsh Awards for Volunteers for Museum Learning.

The UK-wide awards are presented in partnership with the British Museum and celebrate the achievements of volunteers in engaging museum audiences.

They recognise best practice and innovative ways in which volunteers engage the public with collections.

Individual volunteers or small groups of volunteers who worked in direct contact with the public in a museum or gallery during 2013 are eligible to apply.

One winner from each of the UK’s 12 regions and nations will receive a prize of £500. The overall winner will also receive a prize of £2,000.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on 27 August. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the British Museum in London in November.
